Orlando Sports Foundation to Host Cure Bowl March 2Cure Pep Rally Oct. 6 at at Exploria Stadium

Orlando Sports Foundation invites all local nonprofits

The Orlando Sports Foundation will host a “Cure Bowl March  2Cure Pep Rally” on Thursday, Oct. 6,  from 4 p.m. to 5 p.m., at Exploria Stadium. Funds raised from the Cure Bowl directly benefit cancer research organizations such as the Breast Cancer Research Foundation and the UCF Cancer Research Center.

ORLANDO, FLORIDA – The Orlando Sports Foundation will host a “Cure Bowl March  2Cure Pep Rally” on Thursday, Oct. 6,  from 4 p.m. to 5 p.m., at Exploria Stadium.

The open house Pep Rally speakers will include Cure Bowl and Community leaders such as Orlando City Mayor Buddy Dyer, Orange County Mayor Jerry Demings, Orlando Police Chief Eric Smith, and a special presentation by Orlando Fire Department Chief Charlie Salazar to Orlando Sports Foundation Cure Bowl leaders.

The pep rally’s objective is to remind the community and all non-profits of the Cure Bowl’s annual community give-back program that benefits all nonprofits on Cure Bowl Day.

The Duluth Trading Cure Bowl will be televised on ESPN and held on Cure Bowl Day — Dec. 16 at 3 p.m. at Exploria Stadium.

“We are honored to have Mayor Buddy Dyer, Mayor Jerry Demings, Orlando Police Chief Eric Smith, and Orlando Fire Chief Charlie Salazar join us for our Cure Bowl March 2Cure Pep Rally and support the Orlando Sports Foundation / Duluth Trading Cure Bowl that cancer research as well as all Central Florida non-profits. The Cure Bowl continues to work to bring teams together,” said Cure Bowl Executive Director and Orlando Sports Foundation CEO Alan Gooch.

“On behalf of the Orlando Sports Foundation and the March 2Cure Committee, we look forward to seeing everyone join in the March 2Cure from historic Church Street Station to Exploria Stadium on December 16th Cure Bowl Day,”  said Deborah Hausman, March 2Cure Committee Chair.

The Orlando Sports Foundation invites all local nonprofits to learn how they can benefit as a part of the Cure Bowl Community Giveback Program and receive funding for their own organizations.

The Pep Rally open house will give fans and nonprofits the chance to see their seats at Exploria stadium. Nonprofits in attendance will have the opportunity to walk in March2Cure Fanfest with their foundation banner.

The Duluth Trading Cure Bowl matchup will be announced on Dec. 4, with participating teams from the American Athletic Conference, Sun Belt Conference, Conference USA, or Mid-American Conference. The 2022 Duluth Trading Cure Bowl will be played Friday, Dec. 16, at Exploria Stadium at 3 p.m. on ESPN.

The Cure Bowl is more than a game. It is a platform to raise awareness for cancer research and recognize those that are fighting cancer or have survived cancer.

Funds raised from the Cure Bowl directly benefit cancer research organizations such as the Breast Cancer Research Foundation and the UCF Cancer Research Center. Since 2015, the bowl has helped raise a collective $3.88 million dollars to benefit cancer research.
