BREVARD COUNTY, FLORIDA – While we all love the clean bathrooms, the variety of tasty snacks, and of course, the insane amounts of unnecessary items we don’t need to buy but we do it anyway at Buc-ee’s… if you’re going to use that as an excuse for speeding, you should probably make sure you’re actually close to it.
Deputy McLaughlin was out recently conducting traffic enforcement on Interstate 95 northbound when Omar Soliman about blew his doors off going 117 mph.
As Deputy McLaughlin tried to catch Soliman, he watched him abruptly change lanes and tailgate other vehicles.
Thankfully, Deputy McLaughlin was able to conduct the traffic stop and get the vehicle pulled over without anyone getting hurt.
Now, if we wrote a book titled “Excuses People Give Us For Speeding” this would likely be our opening chapter. Hold onto your beaver nuggets, everyone, because this is a good one!
When Deputy McLaughlin asked Soliman the reason for his speeding, he said he was trying to make it to Buc-ee’s to use the bathroom.
Now, like I said before, the bathrooms at Buc-ee’s are exceptionally clean.
However, you should probably be a little closer than 60 miles from your restroom destination when using it as an excuse for speeding.
Ultimately, Soliman took the ride to Ivey’s Iron Bar Lodge for reckless driving and dangerous excessive speed.
Luckily, for him, we have plenty of bathrooms there for him to use, although not quite as nice, and the snack options are nonexistent.
Another great job by Deputy McLaughlin at getting a dangerous and reckless driver off our roads and behind bars where he has time to think about his bad driving.
