SHERIFF IVEY: Fugitive 'ran like a little baby to a local bondsman'

SHERIFF WAYNE IVEY: Well, apparently Steven Sylvester didn’t want to be the “bite taken out of crime” after being hunted and stalked by our Fugitive Unit and G.A.M.E. O.V.E.R. Task Force for cutting off his ankle monitor. He ran like a little baby to a local bondsman, saying that he was scared the Sheriff’s Office Task Force was going to find him and then send a K-9 in to bite him! (BCSO image)

BREVARD COUNTY, FLORIDA – Well, apparently Steven Sylvester didn’t want to be the “bite taken out of crime” after being hunted and stalked by our Fugitive Unit and G.A.M.E. O.V.E.R. Task Force for cutting off his ankle monitor.

He ran like a little baby to a local bondsman, saying that he was scared the Sheriff’s Office Task Force was going to find him and then send a K-9 in to bite him!

Sylvester is a lot smarter than he looks as he is in Brevard County, and we strongly subscribe to the “Mess Around And Find Out” theory, especially with someone who cuts off their ankle monitor and runs to avoid going to prison while they are out of jail on a ton of charges including Racketeering and Conspiracy to Traffic in Meth.

Sylvester is now back in jail with “No Bond” on some additional charges of escape and tampering with an electronic monitoring device.

The sad part is that our K-9 Unit didn’t get a chance to help find Mr. Sylvester, as they love taking a bite out of crime!
