Eastern Florida State Men’s Basketball Team Defeats Palm Beach State in Season Opener 112-90

BREVARD COUNTY • MELBOURNE, FLORIDA – The Eastern Florida State College men’s basketball team opened the season with a victory over Palm Beach State College at Titan Field House Tuesday night.

The Titans picked up the 112-90 victory in the first three home games this week.

Palm Beach State College came out shooting well but the Titans would hit several big shots to keep the game tight.

Up one with 11:08 remaining, Jaden Witter-Watts hit a 3-point shot as he was fouled, sending him to the floor.

He watched the shot go in and then stepped to the free-throw line to complete the four-point play.

The lead would reach 10 points several times and Andres Burney hit a shot to send the Titans into halftime leading 63-53.

Burney had nine of the first 14 points of the second half as the Titan’s lead reached 20, 77-57 with 16 minutes left.

It was part of a second half that saw Burney score 13 of his 18 points as the Titans rolled to victory.

Caleb Byrd led the offensive attack with 29 points while AJ Dixon added 22.

Eastern Florida State College will host Time To Ball Prep Thursday night at 7 p.m. at Titan Field House. Admission to games at Titan Field House on the Melbourne campus is free.
