OBITUARY: Joan Elaine Allaway of Melbourne Passes Away Christmas Day at 82

A warrior throughout life, Joan was dedicated healthcare worker with legendary work ethic

BREVARD COUNTY, FLORIDA – With great sadness, we announce the passing of our beloved mother Joan Elaine (Cutler) Allaway of Melbourne, FL who was peacefully called home on Christmas Day 2022 at the age of 82.

Joan was predeceased by her cherished husband the late Russell E. Allaway of Lunenburg, MA.

She is survived by many loving family members including son Shawn R. Allaway and daughter-in-law Trina Leroux of Rowley, MA, and son Scott E. Allaway and daughter-in-law Jaime Wimmer of Brockton, MA. She also leaves behind two adoring grandchildren, Kurt E. Allaway of Leominster, MA, and Kelsey M. Allaway of Fitchburg, MA.

Joan was born in Leominster, MA on April 25, 1940, to parents Abraham and Virginia Cutler. She had three siblings Jack, Steve, and Pam.

Joan was a loving wife, devoted mother, and passionate New England sports fan. Her perfect day was spending time with the family at the beach followed by a dinner of fried clams with a rum and coke. Joan had a fun-loving spirit and loved a good party with friends and family.

Her wonderful sense of humor and infectious laugh would always make you smile.

A warrior throughout life, Joan was a dedicated healthcare worker with a legendary work ethic. She took tremendous pride in maintaining a beautiful home inside and out where all were welcome. She loved decorating for the holidays, especially Halloween, Christmas, and Easter. Joan, you will be missed, we love you!
