Eastern Florida State Titans Forward Andres Burney Named Region 8 Player of the Week

Burney averaging 16.7 pts, 10 rebounds per game
BREVARD COUNTY • MELBOURNE, FLORIDA – Eastern Florida State College men’s basketball player Andres Burney was named the Region 8 Men’s Basketball Player of the Week for the week ending Jan. 8.
The sophomore forward from Brundidge, Alabama scored 30 points and grabbed 16 rebounds in a victory against Polk State College on Saturday.
Burney is averaging 16.7 points and 10 rebounds per game in 16 games this season and Saturday was his eighth double-double of the season.
His 10 rebounds per game are second in the state and he is shooting 63.2 percent from the floor which is third in the state.
He is ranked in the top 33 in both categories in the nation.
It was the first conference game of the season for the Titans who are now 1-0 and 11-5 overall.
Eastern Florida State College will travel to Santa Fe College Wednesday night for a conference game at 7:30 p.m.
The Titans will be back at Titan Field House Saturday for a 4 p.m. conference game against Daytona State College
