BREVARD COUNTY • MELBOURNE, FLORIDA – The Eastern Florida State College Foundation will bring food, music, and family friendly fun to the Melbourne campus later this month with the return of its 10th Annual Backyard BBQ and Family Fest. The popular community event is set for Saturday, February 21, from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the EFSC Melbourne Campus, located at 3865 North Wickham Road.

The annual festival serves as a fundraiser to support student scholarships at Eastern Florida State College, helping expand educational opportunities for students across the region. Organizers say the event combines community celebration with a meaningful cause, drawing barbecue enthusiasts, families, and supporters from throughout Brevard County.

Guests will have the opportunity to sample barbecue prepared by more than 20 local teams competing for top honors, including the $1,500 Grand Champion prize and the People’s Choice Award. Attendees are invited to taste the entries and vote for their favorites, adding an interactive element to the competition.

In addition to the barbecue competition, admission includes access to the Red, White and Wheels Car Show presented by the EFSC Collegiate Veterans Society, as well as food trucks, a Kid Zone, a vendor market, and live music by HOT PINK!.

Tickets are $15 per person or $50 for a group of four and will be available at the gate. Children ages five and under are admitted free.

Event organizers encourage the community to attend and enjoy an afternoon of entertainment while supporting scholarships that benefit EFSC students.
