BREVARD COUNTY • PALM BAY, FLORIDA – The Palm Bay Police Department hosted a swear-in ceremony for Toby, the team’s first therapy dog and the newest member of the Community Resource Unit.
Toby is a one-and-a-half-year-old full-bred Yellow Labrador, graciously donated to the department by Chambray Labradors of Miami.
Toby and his handler, Officer Kurval, successfully completed a week-long Therapy Dog training course hosted by the Brevard County Sheriff’s Paws and Stripes College.
Toby will be assisting Palm Bay Police Department with community outreach, providing emotional support to agency members and victims of crimes involving traumatic events.
