Palm Bay Police Department Honors Longtime VCOP Barbara Squeglia as Volunteer of the Year

BREVARD COUNTY • PALM BAY, FLORIDA – The Palm Bay Police Department recognized longtime volunteer Barbara Squeglia with this year’s Volunteer of the Year.

“An evening of gratitude at our annual VCOP Banquet as we recognized the volunteers who help keep Palm Bay PD moving forward,” said a Palm Bay Police Department spokesperson.
“Our VCOP members give their time, energy, and dedication to support our officers and our community, and we could not do it without them. Thank you for all you do”

As a VCOP, Barbara began her service at the front desk and has since become an integral part of the office staff.

In addition to her front desk duties, she manages the administrative aspects of the CAR-Fit Program, including scheduling, marketing, and coordinating with business partners. Barbara also serves as a technician during CAR-Fit events.

Barbara also leads the planning and execution of the annual Senior Santa project, overseeing the marketing and wish collection for more than 200 seniors in the Palm Bay area.

“Barbara’s willingness to step up and fill any void demonstrates her strong commitment to giving back to the community, and we are thrilled to have her as part of the VCOP team,” said a Palm Bay Police Department spokesperson.
