BREVARD COUNTY, FLORIDA – Florida State Representative Randy Fine posted to his Facebook page on Tuesday that the Florida Elections Commission voted to charge Robert Burns, a Brevard-based political operative and campaign manager to Palm Bay City Councilman Kenny Johnson, with 42 counts of election fraud violating 11 different statutes.
“This afternoon, the Florida Elections Commission voted to charge Robert Burns, Campaign Manager to Palm Bay City Councilman Kenny Johnson, with 42 counts of election fraud violating 11 different statutes (8 of the statutes were violated multiple times, up to 6 times each),” said Fine on his Facebook page.
“Should Burns not cut a deal to minimize potentially extensive prison time, his case will go to trial in May. In addition, Burns pled guilty for illegal campaign fraud conducted by his fake blog, The Space Coast Rocket. Finally, the Commission charged Burns with multiple additional counts stemming from at least a half dozen criminal complaints filed from individuals in other parts of the state having nothing to do with me. I will share those details as I get them.”
Fine was first elected to the Florida House of Representatives from the 53rd district in 2016 and re-elected in 2018. His district covers southern Brevard County.
