BREVARD COUNTY, FLORIDA – Brevard State Representative Randy Fine (R-Melbourne Beach) announced the endorsements of Brevard Public Schools Board Chairman Matt Susin and newly-elected conservative school board members Megan Wright and Gene Trent for his run for the open state senate seat in Brevard’s District 19.
“I am honored and proud to support Randy Fine and his candidacy for Senate. Representative Fine has stood strong in the face of adversity and represented our county as a true conservative,” said Susin.
“He has never wavered as a watchdog for our citizens, possesses the true character of a leader, and is what Brevard needs in our next State Senator.”
The new conservative Brevard Public Schools board majority joins Brevard Representative Thad Altman, Brevard/Volusia Representative Chase Tramont, and Volusia Representative Webster Barnaby, as well as Republican Party of Florida Chairman and Senator Joe Gruters, and former Senate President from Brevard Mike Haridopolos in endorsing Fine.
“Brevard has had no better fighter against the insanity affecting the children in our school system than Randy Fine, and we will have no better partner as we transform this organization,” said Trent.
“I could not be more excited to have Randy take the next step to the Florida Senate, and am proud to endorse him.”
“Randy Fine is the rare breed we don’t often find in government! He holds people accountable, fights for what he believes in, and speaks his mind and that is exactly what we need in our lawmakers. I am honored to endorse Randy for his Senate race and believe he will keep Florida on the right track,” said Brevard School Board Member Megan Wright.
The International Union of Police Associations and Florida Family Action have also given Fine early endorsements and Fine said more will be rolled out shortly.
“I am honored and humbled to be endorsed by the new parent-focused majority on the Brevard County School Board,” said Fine.
“My disgust with the previous majority was no secret – they explicitly said parents were not qualified to have an opinion about their child’s education and their policies led to the abuse of many of our children, the best example being little Sofia. Matt, Megan, and Gene have taken over unapologetically and aggressively. I could not be more proud of them and more excited to work with them as we turn around our broken school district leadership team and culture.”
Fine’s political committee, Friends of Randy Fine, has more than $500,000 on hand, and in little more than a week after filing, Fine raised almost $50,000 between his campaign and political committee.
Fine currently serves as the Chairman of the House Health & Human Services Committee, where he oversees all aspects of health care and welfare reform in Florida.
Previously, he served as Chairman of the House PreK-12 Appropriations Subcommittee, where he sponsored the largest School Choice expansion in American history, and as Chairman of the House Higher Education Appropriations Subcommittee, where he redesigned the process of capital funding for state universities. He also served as the Chairman of the House Select Committee on Gaming.
In his time in the legislature, Fine has passed over two dozen pieces of legislation, including the bill holding Disney accountable for its wokeists attacks on Florida’s parents.
