The Brevard County Sheriff’s Office has identified the man who was shot and killed in unincorporated Cocoa on Sunday, March 5, as 33-year-old Michael Laskey from Cocoa.

BREVARD COUNTY, FLORIDA – The Brevard County Sheriff’s Office has identified the man who was shot and killed in unincorporated Cocoa on Sunday, March 5, as 33-year-old Michael Laskey from Cocoa.

The investigation began when deputies responded to the area of Fern Street at approximately 1:30 p.m., after the Sheriff’s Office was advised that a man had been shot.

When deputies arrived, they located Laskey who was transported to a local hospital where he was later pronounced dead.

The investigation is ongoing as agents continue conducting interviews and evaluating evidence to determine the circumstances surrounding the incident.
