The REEL Awards honor outstanding teachers across Florida that deliver personal finance and economic education in their classrooms each day

BREVARD COUNTY, FLORIDA – Dwayne Kennedy of Cocoa Beach Jr./Sr. High School was recently honored with the Florida Council on Economic Education’s Regional Economic Education and Leadership Award.

“It’s truly an honor to be selected as this year’s award winner. I pride myself on giving my students real-life material which they can take and apply in the real world,” Kennedy said.

“I am extremely grateful for my students and staff as they continue to push me to become better daily.”

The REEL Awards honor outstanding teachers across Florida that deliver personal finance and economic education in their classrooms each day.

While Kennedy serves as a Coach Beach Jr./Sr. High School Economics teacher, he is also an assistant varsity football coach and assistant track and field coach.

Cocoa Beach Junior/Senior High School is ranked 1,005 in the National Rankings. Schools are ranked on their performance on state-required tests, graduation, and how well they prepare students for college.

The School was founded in 1964 and is over 50 years old. During that time, it was the people who made it such a special place.
