Brevard Public Schools New Superintendent Dr. Mark Rendell Scheduled to Begin June 1

Dr. Rendell will be sworn in as superintendent during the May 30 BPS board meeting
BREVARD COUNTY, FLORIDA – Dr. Mark Rendell, selected as the next superintendent for Brevard Public Schools, will begin his new role on June 1.
It was announced recently that School Board Chairman Matt Susin, working with legal counsel, and Dr. Rendell have come to an employment agreement.
The agreement will go before the full school board for approval at its next meeting on Tuesday, May 9, at 5:30 p.m.
The school board selected Dr. Rendell as superintendent during a specially called meeting on May 2nd. The agreement runs for three years.
Dr. Rendell has been the principal of Cocoa Beach Jr./Sr. High School since 2019. Before coming to Cocoa Beach, Dr. Rendell was the superintendent of the Indian River County Schools.
In Brevard County, he has also been a principal at Titusville High and an assistant principal at Melbourne High, Eau Gallie High and Cocoa High.
“I look forward to working with all the members of the school board and the district staff to support the work in the classroom. This will be a team effort, and I believe that if we all work together, we can achieve excellence,” Dr. Rendell said shortly after being selected.
Dr. Rendell will be ceremonially sworn in as superintendent during the May 30 board meeting.
