WATCH: Eastern Florida State College tennis coach Bobby Cashman talks about his journey to EFSC and what he looks for in a student-athlete. Cashman was named the Region IV Wilson ITA Coach of the Year on Friday.

BREVARD COUNTY • MELBOURNE, FLORIDA – Eastern Florida State College men’s tennis coach Bobby Cashman was named the Region IV Wilson ITA Coach of the Year on Friday.

Cashman led the Titans to an unbeaten regular season and a third-place finish in the NJCAA Division I National Tournament.

The men’s tennis team has been to the national tournament five ties under Cashman and finished in the top seven every time. The third-place finish was the best finish in program history.

Individually, Hugo Car finished ranked third in the nation in singles with Lucas Gonzalez ranking 12th overall and Eric Tripathi ranked 26th.

The doubles duo of Car and Gonzalez are ranked third in the nation in doubles with the duo of Jack Dixon and Colin Tavares ranked 14th.

Eastern Florida State College finished first in the Region IV Rankings as Car is the No. 1 singles player in Region IV and he teamed with Gonzalez for the No. 1 doubles team in the region.
