BREVARD COUNTY, FLORIDA – Eastern Florida State College had another banner season in athletics, with eight of the 13 sports reaching the national tournament and 11 making the state tournament.
The women’s soccer and women’s basketball teams each reach the national tournament semifinals this season, and the men’s tennis team placed third overall, with the women’s tennis team also placing in the top 10 in the nation.
The fall season saw three teams reach the national tournament as the women’s soccer team reached the national tournament for the 13th straight season and reached the semifinals for the sixth straight year. The women’s soccer team finished 12-3 and was 20th in the nation in goals scored, with 56 in 15 games.
Both cross-country teams had good inaugural seasons, reaching the national tournament.
The women’s cross country team placed 19th in the NJCAA Division I National Tournament, which was held in Tallahassee. The team won the Region VIII Championships in order to qualify for the national tournament.
The men’s cross country team also won the Region VIII Tournament and went to the national tournament where they finished 15th in their first season. Freshman Dayton Law won the individual title, finishing first in the Division I race with a time of 26 minutes, 38.30 seconds in the 8K race.

The winter season saw another historic season for the women’s basketball team as they broke the season wins mark with 33 wins.
The team went unbeaten in conference play for the second straight season and became the first team outside of the Panhandle to win the Region VIII Championship. It was their first Region VIII and South Atlantic titles.
The title gave them an automatic bid to the national tournament and the No. 2 seed, which was the first time the program has been seeded in the top eight and received a bye in the first round.
At the national tournament, Eastern Florida State College won its first two games for the second straight season, advancing to the national tournament semifinals for the first time.
They would lose in a tight game to Trinity Valley Community College in the semifinals, just the second loss all season for the Titans.
In the spring, four teams made the national tournament and both golf teams as well as tennis teams qualified for the tournament.
