OBITUARY: Paulette Bethel Passed Away in Cocoa Beach, Florida After Two-Year Battle with Leukemia

Paulette Bethel passed away in Cocoa Beach, Florida after a two-year battle with leukemia. A world-class athlete, she won multiple state and regional titles as a bodybuilder and on a national level with a black belt in Karate. She will be deeply missed by Keith, her brother David, sister-in-law Carol, nieces and nephews Damon, Katie, Demian, Noelle and George and the Surfside Playhouse in Cocoa Beach which has scheduled a celebration of her life and work on July 7, 2023.

BREVARD COUNTY, COCOA BEACH• FLORIDA – Paulette Bethel passed away in Cocoa Beach, Florida after a two-year battle with leukemia.

Paulette was a choreographer, dancer and artist in Miami noted for her innovative StreetDance routines at Everybody and Body & Soul studios in Coral Gables.

Her charismatic presence and unique approach won fans in NYC, Atlanta, Denver and Los Angeles where she also taught. In 2017 she created “Gotta Dance” a workshop held at the Surfside Playhouse in Cocoa Beach, teaching amateurs, singers and actors to dance and perform on stage.

A world-class athlete, she won multiple state and regional titles as a bodybuilder and on a national level with a black belt in Karate.

Her artwork – some made in collaboration with her partner Keith Smith – was a unique blend of realism and surrealism @artbypauleith.
Born in Palo Alto, the daughter of a high-ranking Foreign Service Officer, she grew up in Europe, Japan and Cuba with stops in Honolulu, NYC and Norfolk.

She will be deeply missed by Keith, her brother David, sister-in-law Carol, nieces and nephews Damon, Katie, Demian, Noelle and George and the Surfside Playhouse in Cocoa Beach which has scheduled a celebration of her life and work on July 7, 2023.
