Space Coast Symphony Orchestra to Present ‘The Wild West’ Musical in Viera on Aug. 5

BREVARD COUNTY • VIERA, FLORIDA – Saddle up for a ride through your favorite Hollywood Westerns, when the Space Coast Symphony Orchestra presents the music of The Wild West at the movies.

Conductor Aaron Collins will put the spurs to his orchestra for a multi-media experience on Saturday afternoon, August 5 at 3:00 p.m., at AMC Avenue 16, located at the Avenue Viera, 2241 Town Center Avenue in Viera.

The exciting program will celebrate the Western film genre with music from The Magnificent Seven, Silverado, High Noon, The Big Country, The Good Bad, and the Ugly, How the West Was Won, The Cowboys and more, while film clips play on the big screen.

The Wild West will also feature the World Premiere of Mark Piszczek’s American Frontier Suite, a symphonic set of folk songs from the Old West and American frontier, including “Bury Me Not on The Lone Prairie,” “Tumbling Tumbleweeds,” “Yellow Rose of Texas,” “Red River Valley” and others.

$30 tickets for The Wild West include theater admission and are available through the orchestra website at www.SpaceCoastSymphony.org or at Marine Bank & Trust in Suntree.

“These are some of the most amazing soundtracks in cinematic history,” said Collins. “Add a bucket of popcorn, cowboys, stagecoaches and larger than life scenery– and you’ve got the perfect summer afternoon.”

The Space Coast Symphony Orchestra is one of only a handful of U.S. orchestras to perform year-round. Concertgoers aged 18 and under or with a college ID are admitted free to every SCSO concert.
