Space Coast Economic Development Commission Announces Spaceport Commerce Park Selected for FPL’s Florida First Sites Program

BREVARD COUNTY, FLORIDA — The Economic Development Commission of Florida’s Space Coast (EDC) is pleased to announce its inclusion in Florida Power & Light Company’s Florida First Sites program for a site readiness evaluation and marketing campaign at the prestigious Spaceport Commerce Park in Titusville, Florida.
This groundbreaking collaboration marks a significant milestone in advancing the economic development and growth of the Space Coast region.
Spaceport Commerce Park, encompassing over 100 acres of light industrial land, has been selected as one of the 10 locations within the FPL service area for this highly coveted program. This selection is a testament to the exceptional potential that Spaceport Commerce Park holds for attracting innovative businesses and creating high-quality job opportunities.

The program, provided by FPL in collaboration with Global Location Strategies (GLS), renowned experts in site selection and economic development, will enable the EDC to accelerate the site readiness process for Spaceport Commerce Park.
GLS provides their expertise in reviewing comprehensive site information data through site selection models to deliver actionable recommendations to enhance competitiveness and site readiness. GLS will then create marketing materials for Spaceport Commerce Park to promote the parcels of land on the Florida First Sites website.

Through Florida First Sites, the EDC will be able to identify and market the infrastructure and utility needs at Spaceport Commerce Park to make the site “pad ready,” thus creating an environment conducive to the needs of cutting-edge industries.
The improvement recommendations include the need for expansion of utilities, roadways, and other critical infrastructure elements, ensuring the site needs are transparent and stakeholders are prepared to accommodate businesses seeking a strategic location in the heart of Florida’s Space Coast.
The collaboration between the Economic Development Commission of Florida’s Space Coast, Florida Power & Light Company, and Global Location Services exemplifies the dedication to fostering economic prosperity and job creation within the region.
