Suntree United Methodist Church to Celebrate the Christmas Season With Concerts Dec. 10

BREVARD COUNTY • SUNTREE, FLORIDA – It’s that time of year for holiday entertainment of all varieties and styles. Suntree United Methodist Church will host multiple Brevard musical groups to celebrate the Christmas season, when they present two free performances of a Suntree Community Christmas Concert at 3:30 p.m. and 7:00 p.m. on December 10.
The church at 7400 North Wickham Road in Suntree will welcome a quartet from the Brevard Symphony Orchestra in a program of Christmas-themed music.
The Central Florida Winds will be represented with a trombone group playing favorites of the season. Adding to the festive air will be 11 young dancers from the Viera Dance Conservatory, performing two Broadway-style holiday numbers.
Contemporary musicians from the Suntree Worship Collective will perform a selection of Christmas carols, while members of the Brevard Community Chorus will sing “Sleigh Ride,” “First Noel” and “12 Days of Christmas.”
Also raising their voices in song will be choir members from Mount Moriah Missionary Baptist Church in Palm Bay.
Interspersed between the other entertainment on the 90-minute program, will be amusing retellings of the origins of the world’s most famous carols and hymns.
Donations will be accepted at the free concert for ZOE Empowers, an organization providing opportunities for impoverished orphans in Africa and India.
Pastor of Worship Arts and the organizer of the Suntree Community Christmas Concert at Suntree United Methodist Church, Mike Mayes looks forward to welcoming the community for a program that embodies the Christmas spirit.
“We are excited to add even more groups this year,” said Reverend Mayes. “Inspired by their gifts, this diverse concert will showcase the arts in an exhilarating holiday performance.”
Suntree United Methodist Church is the site of frequent musical performances by groups from the Brevard Symphony Orchestra, Central Florida Winds, Space Coast Flute Orchestra, Melbourne Municipal Band, and more.
