Senior first baseman Ogbodiewgu finished her final season as a Panther, hitting career-highs in batting average, home runs, RBI, and walks. The Round Rock, Texas native’s eight dingers tied the Sunshine State conference lead with Nova Southeastern’s Gianna Russo and tied for the sixth-highest in a season by a Panther.

It also helped her move into the program’s top five in career home runs. Ogbodiewgu started 46 games, tallying a 0.282 batting average and 30 RBI on her way to All-SSC First Team honors. At first base, the senior recorded 215 putouts and a .995 fielding percentage.

Hogue joined Ogbodiewgu on the All-SSC First Team as a utility player, starting a third of the games in three positions – first base, third base, and designated player.

In her first year at Florida Tech after transferring from the College of Central Florida, Hogue hit the team’s second-best batting average of 0.329, along with five home runs and a team-leading 31 RBI. Hogue’s 10 doubles were tied for ninth in the SSC. At the corners of the diamond, the junior tallied 143 putouts, 39 assists, and a 0.963 fielding percentage.

Making an appearance on the All-SSC Second Team, Miranda Schwartz, as a sophomore, started all 46 games and batted a 0.250 average while tripling her home run amount with six and knocking in 17 RBI.

The Lutz, Florida native is the first Panther third baseman to make an All-SSC since Katie Naumoff in 2007.

A Florida Tech Panthers has earned a spot on the All-Defensive team for the third consecutive season. The 2024 team marks the first time two Panthers are honored for their defensive efforts. Schwartz was lights out in the hot corner, registering 37 putouts and 75 assists for a 0.949 fielding percentage.

Ella Niles joined Schwartz on the All-Defensive team. The sophomore was perfect at centerfield, holding a 1.000 fielding percentage with 57 putouts and 26 assists.

The Hesperia, California native is one of two scholar-athletes in the SSC with a perfect fielding percentage. Niles’s speed helped her catch up to flyballs and throw out six runners attempting to steal a base.

The Panthers concluded the season with a 25-21 overall record, reaching 25 wins for the third straight season.
