BREVARD COUNTY • TITUSVILLE, FLORIDA – Courageous Kicks Taekwondo students shined the brightest as they emerge as the top scorer and medal earner in different categories out of over 100 contenders from different schools at the 2024 Teal Tournament on September 14 at Park Avenue.

They brought home an astonishing amount of gold, silver, and bronze medals.

Courageous Kicks Taekwondo headmaster, Master Happy Kierstead, said that hosting a multi-family event in support of ovarian cancer awareness is like a dream come true.

Courageous Kicks students are now celebrated as a source of pride for the United States Chung Do Kwan Association (USCDKA). The Teal Tournament is aimed at raising awareness about ovarian cancer. The event was organized by Master Happy Kierstead in collaboration with her family, colleagues, and friends.

“Courageous Kicks Taekwondo is a place where families can train together, connect with each other, and their community,” Master Happy Kierstead said.

A couple of months ago, Courageous Kicks Taekwondo garnered most of the medals at the 2024 USCDKA National Championships. History repeats itself, as they won in the demo competition while holding on under pressure to upset other competitors.

Brynlee Kemmerling won first place in the nation. Amelia Bader, Kristen Hall, and Master Happy Kierstead got into the top ten. Master Kierstead also won as Grand Champion in forms and extremes.

Master Happy Kierstead recently traveled to South Korea along with the USCDKA envoy to attend the 80th anniversary of the World Taekwondo Chung Do Kwan Federation.

“Thank you to my parents, Kristen Hall, Brianna Dargie, and so many Taekwondo parents who helped make this possible. This is a place where people can learn Taekwondo and can be a light for the gospel,” she added.
