Florida Department of Education: Majority of Brevard High Schools Celebrate Increase in Graduation Rates

BREVARD COUNTY, FLORIDA – Eleven Brevard Public Schools increased their high school graduation rate for the 2023-2024 school year, according to the Florida Department of Education.
The biggest success story is Titusville High School, which had a 5.4% increase, resulting in a 92.7% graduation rate. Space Coast Jr./Sr. also showed significant gains, improving by 3.5% to 95.7%, and Astronaut High School, with a 3.3% increase to 89.4%.
“We are incredibly proud of the hard work of our students, teachers, and staff across the district,” said Dr. Mark Rendell, Superintendent for BPS.
“While this is positive news and a signal that our district is heading in the right direction, there’s still work to be done. Our goal will always be to achieve a 100 percent graduation rate.”

In addition, the following high schools increased their graduation rate:
■ Cocoa High School
■ Viera High School
■ Melbourne High School
■ Palm Bay Magnet High School
■ Heritage High School
■ Eau Gallie High School
■ Merritt Island High School
■ Satellite High School
West Shore Jr./Sr. High School and Edgewood Jr./Sr. High School both maintained a perfect 100% graduation rate.
Other notable mentions include Merritt Island High School, Satellite High School, and Viera High School, which all saw graduation rates over 98%.
The district-wide graduation rate was above the state average at 89.8%. The focused efforts at each school level have ensured students receive the tools and support they need to succeed academically in high school and beyond.
BPS officials said the district continues to foster innovative programs tailored to student needs, remains focused on further improving graduation outcomes, building on each school’s successes, and addressing areas for continued growth.
