Palm Bay Police Arrest Oceanside Cabinets Manager Christopher Michalak on Scheme to Defraud, Grand Theft Charges

BREVARD COUNTY • PALM BAY, FLORIDA – Pam Bay police detectives arrested Christopher Michalak, the manager of Oceanside Cabinets, on Thursday, January 16, for multiple felony charges related to fraudulent crimes, including Scheme to Defraud, Grand Theft from a Person Over 65, Grand Theft, and Communications Fraud.

According to Palm Bay Police Lt. Virginia Kilmer, Michalak victimized ten individuals in Palm Bay by falsely promising to complete cabinetry work and pre-collecting payments for these services.

“Instead of fulfilling his obligations, he diverted the funds, totaling an approximated $112,000 for his personal use,” said Lt. Kilmer.

“Our General Crimes Unit has worked tirelessly over the past few months to investigate these incidents and ensure justice for the victims.

Lt. Kilmer said the investigative efforts were in collaboration with the Brevard County State Attorney’s Office and the Palm Bay Police Department is committed to protecting the community and holding individuals accountable for criminal behavior.
