BREVARD COUNTY • FLORIDA — Every year, Sheriff Wayne Ivey is honored to stand with partners at the Children’s Advocacy Center of Brevard, along with members of the Brevard County Sheriff’s Office Criminal Investigative Services team, to “plant” Blue and Silver Pinwheels to bring awareness to National Child Abuse Prevention Month.

This year, the team was also joined by members of Serene Harbor and Bikers Against Child Abuse, which play such essential roles in keeping the children of our community safe.

April is recognized as “National Child Abuse Prevention Month,” and the pinwheel represents the whimsical nature of childhood, which all children deserve.

While it’s important to raise awareness in our community during this time, it is equally as important to these groups to do everything we can each and every day of the year to protect our most precious citizens, our children.

Members of the BCSO team work closely with all of these agencies and many more in our community, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, to protect our children by preventing, investigating, and solving child abuse and neglect cases.

“We couldn’t be more blessed to have built these amazing partnerships with people that continue to work tirelessly every year protecting innocent children.” Said Sheriff Wayne Ivey.

While this mission is to bring awareness to Child Abuse Prevention, Sheriff Ivey also took a moment to thank his team and all of these organizations for everything they do to help keep children in Brevard County safe.
