Eastern Florida State College Softball Player Avery Velazquez Named to NFCA All-Region South Team

BREVARD COUNTY • FLORIDA — Eastern Florida State College softball player Avery Velazquez is named to the 2025 NFCA NJCAA Division I All-Region South team.
The freshman from Ocoee, Florida, was 24-11 on the mound with a 1.22 ERA in 224 2/3 innings pitched. She finished with 188 strikeouts. At the plate, Velazquez hit .416 with 22 doubles, eight home runs, and drove in 69 runs.
Velazquez was named to the All-FCSAA team as well as the FCSAA All-Tournament team this season.
Velazquez is the second Titan to be named to the first team, following Livie Davis in 2024.
Eastern Florida State College finished the season 39-22 overall and went 1-2 in the FCSAA Division I Softball Championship in Clearwater.
The awards honor student-athletes from the Association’s three NJCAA Division I regions with selection to one of two teams. NFCA member head coaches nominate and then vote for the winners in their respective areas.
The 2025 NJCAA Division I All-America teams, voted on by the NFCA NJCAA DI All-American Committee, will be announced on June 2.
