Fatal Hit-and-Run Crash on Southbound I-95 Results in Lane Closures in Brevard County

The Florida Highway Patrol was dispatched at 9:56 a.m. the morning of May 2, in response to a crash on  I-95 Southbound.

BREVARD COUNTY • PALM BAY, FLORIDA — The Florida Highway Patrol was dispatched at 9:56 a.m. Friday morning, in response to a crash on I-95 Southbound in Palm Bay.

The crash was located at mile marker 172, and resulted in the closure of all Southbound lanes. When FHP arrived at 10:10 a.m. it was determined that this was a hit-and-run incident, that resulted in the death of two people.

A semi-truck driver, believed to be the culprit, was located and taken into custody by FHP. The lane closures resulted in significant delays throughout the morning.
