BREVARD COUNTY • TITUSVILLE, FLORIDA — Parrish Healthcare adds a new location to its nationally certified integrated care network, expanding access to cancer care services among other services.
The newest Parrish Healthcare Center is located at 490 N. Washington Avenue in Titusville and is now open for business.
The site, formerly the Health First Cancer Institute, is now the new home for the Parrish Healthcare Oncology Center, which offers medical oncology, hematology, radiology, and infusion services, as well as laboratory services, select diagnostics, medical offices, and additional facilities.
In September 2024, Health First and Parrish Healthcare announced the signing of a real estate agreement that transferred ownership of the former Health First Cancer Institute building at 490 N. Washington Ave, Titusville, to Parrish Healthcare.
The agreement further solidified the commitment of Brevard’s two longest-serving, locally owned and governed not-for-profit health systems to forge a collaborative relationship focused on delivering community-centric healthcare spanning the county’s 72 miles.
A ribbon-cutting ceremony will be held on Tuesday, July 22, from 5 p.m. to 6:30 p.m., to commemorate the center’s opening under its new ownership. The event is open to the public and will include a ceremonial ribbon cutting, guided tours, light refreshments, and an opportunity to meet the care team.
“Parrish Healthcare is committed to enhancing access to the trusted, high-quality medical services and providers the community has come to expect from us,” said Parrish Healthcare President/CEO George Mikitarian.
“Adding this new location to our award-winning integrated care network means we are able to further expand and grow our nationally accredited cancer program, among other services, within a state-of-the-art facility,” added Mikitarian.

Parrish’s cancer program has maintained accreditation from the Commission on Cancer (CoC) of the American College of Surgeons (ACS) since 1990. To earn CoC accreditation, an oncology program must meet 34 CoC quality care standards, undergo evaluation every three years through a comprehensive survey process, and maintain levels of excellence in delivering comprehensive, patient-centered care.
As a CoC-accredited program, Parrish Healthcare employs a multidisciplinary approach to treating cancer, involving consultations among surgeons, medical and radiation oncologists, diagnostic radiologists, pathologists, and other oncology specialists.
“The CoC Accreditation Program provides the framework for us to continuously improve our quality of patient care through various programs that focus on the full spectrum of cancer care, including prevention, early diagnosis, cancer staging, treatment, rehabilitation, life-long follow-up for recurrent disease, and end-of-life care,” said Alex Gutierrez, manager of oncology and infusion programs.
The American Cancer Society estimates that over 2 million cases of new cancer will be diagnosed in 2025. Like all CoC-accredited programs, Parrish maintains a cancer registry and contributes data to the National Cancer Data Base (NCDB), a joint program of the CoC and American Cancer Society.
Data on all types of cancer are tracked and analyzed through the NCDB, and these data are used to explore trends in cancer care.
CoC-accredited programs, in turn, have access to information derived from this type of data analysis, which is used to create national, regional, and state benchmark reports. These reports help CoC programs with their quality improvement efforts.

“Patients have already expressed their appreciation for the expansion of the infusion services on the second floor and are looking forward to radiation oncology services coming online at the center soon,” said Parrish Healthcare Assistant Vice President, Operations Matt Graybill.
Parrish Healthcare is locally governed and has served North Brevard as the community’s public, not-for-profit health system since 1958.
Parrish Healthcare is America’s first Joint Commission Integrated Care Certified system that includes: Parrish Medical Center, one of the nation’s most recognized hospitals for clinical quality, patient safety, and healing environments; Parrish Medical Group, NCQA certified patient-centered medical homes; three signature Parrish Healthcare Centers, two Titusville locations and one in Port St. John; and Parrish Health Network, a coalition of healthcare providers, insurers and others working together to improve quality and safety and lower healthcare costs on behalf of individuals, families and businesses.
