Tom Abbate Selected as New City Manager of Titusville, Brings Extensive City Government Leadership to Position

Abbate was serving as interim city manager

BREVARD COUNTY • TITUSVILLE, FLORIDA – Tom Abbate has been selected as the new City Manager of Titusville.

The decision marks the conclusion of an extensive nationwide search conducted by a private recruitment firm, which attracted over 60 qualified applicants from across the country.

Amy Werring, City of Titusville Public Information Officer, stated that following a thorough evaluation process and public comment, the Council selected Abbate, who had been serving as interim city manager and brought over two decades of city government leadership to the position.

Before stepping into the interim role, Abbate served as Assistant City Manager for more than 20 years under the leadership of three previous city managers.

“It is both an honor and a privilege to have been appointed as City Manager,” said Abbate.

“I look forward to working with a very talented and dedicated city staff as we move the city forward, carrying out the council’s strategic plan and vision in a manner that values the importance of transparency, open communications, and professional excellence in all we do.”

Mayor Andrew Connors and fellow council members praised Abbate’s longstanding dedication to the city, institutional knowledge, and steady leadership throughout the transition period.

“The City of Titusville looks forward to continuing progress and innovation under Abbate’s leadership as it plans for a future grounded in responsible growth, community engagement, and a strong municipal foundation,” said Werring.
