BREVARD COUNTY • PALM BAY, FLORIDA – The City of Palm Bay has announced that beginning on October 8, repair work will start on the Malabar Road Bridge in Palm Bay between Bending Branch Lane and Bavarian Avenue.
The bridge was damaged in a vehicular crash and, although safe, requires work to bring it back into full compliance.
This work will be performed on behalf of the Brevard County Public Works Department by RUSH Construction, Inc. and its subcontractors.
To minimize impacts on the motoring public, this work will be conducted in separate phases.
Utilizing single lane closures, one travel lane will be provided for traffic at all times. Traffic control devices and advanced warning signage will be in place to guide motorists.
The anticipated duration of the first phase of work is estimated to be 6 weeks, with an additional 4-6 weeks required for the remaining work. Weather conditions and other unforeseen circumstances could affect construction schedules.
The City appreciates the community’s patience and understanding as it completes these necessary repairs.
