City Leaders to Celebrate Palm Bay Police for Reaching Excelsior Accreditation Status

The City of Palm Bay will host a special celebration honoring the Palm Bay Police Department’s recent achievement of Excelsior Status from the Commission for Florida Law Enforcement Accreditation.

BREVARD COUNTY • PALM BAY, FLORIDA – The City of Palm Bay will host a community celebration on Thursday, November 20, to honor the Palm Bay Police Department’s achievement of Excelsior Status, the highest recognition granted by the Commission for Florida Law Enforcement Accreditation (CFA).

The event will begin at 5:30 p.m. inside the City Council Chambers at Palm Bay City Hall, 120 Malabar Road SE, preceding the Regular City Council Meeting. Residents are invited to attend and join city leaders in recognizing the department’s exceptional accomplishment.

Guests will have the opportunity to congratulate the men and women of the Palm Bay Police Department, enjoy light refreshments, and participate in a ceremonial cake-cutting before the meeting convenes.

The celebration follows the department’s flawless performance during a recent accreditation review. Earlier this month, Palm Bay Police was officially reaccredited and awarded Excelsior Status — a distinction reserved for agencies that complete five consecutive three-year reaccreditation cycles. The honor reflects sustained excellence in integrity, professionalism, and accountability.

City officials are encouraging the community to attend the recognition ceremony and show their appreciation for the department’s continued commitment to high standards and public service.
