BREVARD COUNTY, FLORIDA – Eau Gallie head baseball coach Bob Collins got his 500th win in his career after the Commodores defeated the Bloomington Purple Raiders 10-2 at USSSA Stadium in Viera.
Meanwhile, the Bloomington Purple Raiders were looking to open their season on a strong note with a win in the first of two games against Brevard County opponents.
Eau Gallie’s season had not unfolded as planned, but with fewer than a dozen games remaining, there was still time to turn things around.
Bloomington, meanwhile, had just begun its season. With winter transitioning to spring, conditions became more favorable for the Purple Raiders as they aimed to finish Cocoa Beach Spring Training on a high note before returning home.
