Florida Tech Men’s Rowing Finishes Strong at the SIRA Championships

Florida Tech earned a sixth-place finish in the A Final with a time of 6:18.160

The Florida Tech men’s rowing crew wraps up their trip to the SIRA Championships on Sunday, Apr. 19.

BREVARD COUNTY, FLORIDA – The Florida Tech men’s rowing crew wraps up their trip to the SIRA Championships on Sunday, Apr. 19.

Tech competed in two events including the 2V8+ A Final and the varsity 8+ in the B Final.

Florida Tech earned a sixth-place finish in the A Final with a time of 6:18.160. The Panthers finished ahead of Purdue who came in with a time of 6:25.805 while they were just behind Embry-Riddle, Notre Dame and Jacksonville.

Tech’s varsity 8+ came in second in the B Final as they completed the race with a time of 5:54.006. They defeated multiple division I programs such as Fordham, Georgia Tech, Clemson and North Carolina.

Tech is back in competition on Friday, May 8 as they travel to Cherry Hill, New Jersey for the Dad Vail Regatta.
