BREVARD COUNTY • MELBOURNE, FLORIDA – Nick Palmiotti has been selected as the General Manager of the King Center for the Performing Arts, ushering in a new chapter while continuing a 38-year legacy of bringing world-class entertainment to Florida’s Space Coast.

This announcement comes as the King Center celebrates its 38th Anniversary, marking nearly four decades since opening its doors on April 10, 1988, with an inaugural Broadway performance of Singin’ in the Rain.

Since then, the King Center has become a cornerstone of the community, welcoming generations of patrons, hosting unforgettable performances, and serving as a cultural hub for the region.

Over the past 38 years, the King Center has welcomed an extraordinary range of artists and performances, from legendary icons such as Diana Ross, Willie Nelson, Tony Bennett, and Earth, Wind & Fire to contemporary stars like John Legend.

The stage has also hosted some of the most in-demand names in comedy, including Dave Chappelle, Jerry Seinfeld, Jim Gaffigan, Nate Bargatze, and Tom Segura, as well as acclaimed performers Steve Martin and Martin Short and illusionist David Copperfield.

Together with a long-standing tradition of presenting nationally touring Broadway productions, these performances have helped establish the King Center as a premier destination for live entertainment on the Space Coast.

Palmiotti brings a strong background in venue management, programming, and community-focused leadership.

Most recently, he oversaw day-to-day operations at the historic Orpheum Theatre in Sioux City, Iowa, a 2,500-seat venue originally opened in 1927.

Prior to that, he served as Director of Sales and Marketing for Pueblo Memorial Hall in Colorado, where he led marketing and booking efforts for the venue.

Throughout his career, Palmiotti has worked across theaters, arenas, convention centers, and stadiums, with a focus on communities similar in size to Brevard County.

His experience reflects a balanced approach, bringing high-quality, in-demand programming to local audiences while staying grounded in the unique character of each community he serves.

As he steps into the role, Palmiotti emphasizes building on the King Center’s strong foundation.

“The King Center has an exemplary track record,” said Palmiotti.

“My goal is to build on that history, continuing to bring exceptional programming to the community, enhancing the overall guest experience, and finding new ways to grow while staying true to what makes this place so special.”

The King Center will host a community open house on Thursday, June 11, from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m., inviting the public to meet Palmiotti, explore the venue, and connect with local youth arts organizations from across Brevard County.

Palmiotti and his family recently chose to relocate to Melbourne, drawn by both the community and the opportunity to put down long-term roots.

“We chose Melbourne because it feels like an amazing place to raise our family,” he said.

“We plan to be here for the long term and look forward to being deeply involved in the community.”
