UPDATE: Missing Man Last Seen at Grant-Valkaria Rest Stop Found Dead in Georgia

BREVARD COUNTY, FLORIDA – The Federal Bureau of Investigation announced that the body of Alejandro Jacomino Gonzalez, a truck driver who was the subject of a suspicious disappearance investigation after last being seen in Brevard County, has been found in coastal Georgia.
In a news release, FBI officials said Gonzalez’s body was recovered in “Coastal Georgia,” but did not release specific details about the location, circumstances of the discovery, or additional information regarding his disappearance or death.
Gonzalez, 40, was last known to be in Grant-Valkaria between April 16 and April 17, 2026, according to investigators.
Authorities previously said Gonzalez, a Cuban-born truck driver, had picked up several vehicles in Georgia before traveling to South Florida for deliveries. Around 1:20 a.m. on April 17, Gonzalez stopped at the I-95 rest area in Grant-Valkaria. GPS data later showed his truck departing the stop at approximately 7:49 a.m. and heading north toward Jacksonville.
The FBI had asked for the public’s help in locating Gonzalez and sought information from anyone who may have been at the Brevard County rest stop between 1 a.m. and 8 a.m. on April 17, particularly near the southern portion of the rest area by the I-95 South ramp.
Gonzalez was described as 5 feet 11 inches tall, weighing approximately 200 pounds, with a bald head, brown eyes, and a brown beard and mustache. He had a full-sleeve tattoo on his left arm, additional tattoos on his lower right arm, and “Elisia” tattooed on his right forearm.
The investigation remains ongoing, and federal authorities have not yet released further details surrounding Gonzalez’s death. Anyone with information is still urged to contact the FBI or local law enforcement.
