BREVARD COUNTY • CAPE CANAVERAL, FLORIDA — Blue Origin successfully launched its heavy-lift New Glenn rocket Sunday from Cape Canaveral Space Force Station, marking another major step forward for the company’s orbital launch program.
The mission, lifting off from Launch Complex 36, carried the BlueBird 7 satellite into low Earth orbit for AST SpaceMobile. The spacecraft is part of the company’s growing constellation aimed at delivering space-based cellular broadband directly to standard smartphones.
Officials said the launch proceeded as planned, with New Glenn performing its ascent and payload deployment milestones successfully.
BlueBird 7 is expected to expand network capacity and support AST SpaceMobile’s planned service rollout in 2026, targeting improved connectivity in remote and underserved regions worldwide.
