BREVARD COUNTY • CAPE CANAVERAL, FLORIDA — Blue Origin successfully launched its heavy-lift New Glenn rocket Sunday from Cape Canaveral Space Force Station, marking another major step forward for the company’s orbital launch program.

The mission, lifting off from Launch Complex 36, carried the BlueBird 7 satellite into low Earth orbit for AST SpaceMobile. The spacecraft is part of the company’s growing constellation aimed at delivering space-based cellular broadband directly to standard smartphones.

Officials said the launch proceeded as planned, with New Glenn performing its ascent and payload deployment milestones successfully.

BlueBird 7 is expected to expand network capacity and support AST SpaceMobile’s planned service rollout in 2026, targeting improved connectivity in remote and underserved regions worldwide.

Blue Origin successfully launched its heavy-lift New Glenn rocket Sunday from Cape Canaveral Space Force Station, marking another major step forward for the company’s orbital launch program.

The flight also featured another key test of New Glenn’s reusability system. The rocket’s first-stage booster, Never Tell Me The Odds, attempted a landing on a maritime platform in the Atlantic Ocean following stage separation.

The recovery effort is part of Blue Origin’s long-term strategy to reduce launch costs and increase flight frequency.

Sunday’s mission represents the third flight in the New Glenn program and underscores Blue Origin’s continued push into the competitive commercial launch market.

Designed to carry both commercial and government payloads, New Glenn is a central piece of the company’s long-term spaceflight ambitions.
