Brevard County Teacher Arrested for Possession of Controlled Substance

BREVARD COUNTY • TITUSVILLE, FLORIDA – Titusville Police announced on Friday that they have arrested a Coquina Elementary School teacher after she was found in possession of a controlled substance.

Police arrested Teresa Pritchard Mancini, 52, of Titusville, following a well-being check requested by Brevard Public Schools (BPS) and District Security.

According to the report, BPS officials had been attempting to locate Mancini for several days regarding an employment matter.

After being unable to make contact, BPS requested assistance from the Titusville Police Department. 

Officers located Mancini at the Days Inn, in room 148. During the investigation, officers discovered a bag containing a glass pipe and approximately 1.1 grams of methamphetamine. 

Mancini of Titusville has been charged with the following: 

• One count – Possession of a Schedule II Controlled Substance (Methamphetamine) 

One count – Possession of Drug Paraphernalia  

At this time, police say there is no evidence to indicate that any students were involved, harmed, or placed in danger, and the investigation has revealed no connection between this incident and student activity.

Mancini is currently being held at the Brevard County Detention Center. 

“The safety and well-being of our children will always remain our highest priority,” said Deputy Chief Tyler Wright.

“While this incident did not involve any students, we take every situation  seriously and work closely with our school partners to ensure a safe and secure environment for  everyone on campus.”
