Sophomore Avery Velazquez was on top of her game once again on the mound, allowing just two hits in the victory. Velazquez retired the first 11 hitters she faced in the game.
Scoreless after three innings, Avery Velazquez led off the inning with a walk, and then, with one out, she would steal second base for her first stolen base of the season.

Madison Velazquez hit a single up the middle to put runners on first and third. Madison Velazquez advanced to second on a groundout, bringing up freshman Avery Helms.
Helms singled to right field, which scored Avery Velazquez and pinch runner Martha Jones.
Down 2-0, Kenzie Hess cut the lead in half with a solo home run with two outs.
From there, Avery Velazquez retired the next eight hitters before Clarissa Valdez reached on a bloop single.
Kerissa Howell ended the game with a catch in left field to clinch the victory.
Eastern Florida State College will get a day off and will be back in action on Wednesday afternoon at 2:30 p.m. EST.
