Onshore Flow Pushes Highest Rain Chances Westward, Strong Storms Still Possible
BREVARD COUNTY, FLORIDA – Onshore flow will develop across East Central Florida today, shifting the highest chances for showers and thunderstorms westward through the afternoon and evening.
Although coastal areas may see fewer storms, locally heavy rainfall and a few strong thunderstorms will remain possible. Residents should be prepared for lightning, gusty winds and brief periods of reduced visibility in heavier downpours.
Looking ahead, breezy to windy onshore flow is expected to strengthen through the middle of the week, leading to deteriorating conditions along area beaches and across the coastal waters.
Beachgoers and boaters should monitor the latest forecasts before heading out, as stronger winds and rougher surf may create hazardous conditions. Swimmers should remain near a lifeguard and avoid entering the water alone.
