Titans Take Twin Bill Over College of Central Florida, are Now 26-12 in Citrus Conference

Titans defeated the Patriots 11-3 and 16-2, are now 26-12, and are in third place in the Citrus Conference. 

The Eastern Florida State College softball team celebrated Sophomore Day with a couple of big wins against the College of Central Florida on Saturday at Titan Softball Complex.

BREVARD COUNTY • MELBOURNE, FLORIDA – The Eastern Florida State College softball team celebrated Sophomore Day with a couple of big wins against the College of Central Florida Saturday at Titan Softball Complex.

The Titans defeated the Patriots 11-3 and 16-2, are now 26-12, and are in third place in the Citrus Conference. 

Eastern Florida State College sent 14 hitters to the plate in the first inning, scoring nine runs on eight hits to lead 9-1 after the first inning.

Annalyn Duncan’s three-run home run highlighted the offensive attack as the sophomore hit her 12th home run of the season. Aracelis Jimenez and Jessica Merk each had two-run singles in the inning.

The Titans would add a run in the second inning as Kerissa Howell doubled and scored on Isabel Otero’s RBI triple. They would also score in the fourth inning as Madison Velazquez doubled and scored on Merk’s RBI double.

Annalyn Duncan’s three-run home run highlighted the offensive attack as the sophomore hit her 12th home run of the season. Aracelis Jimenez and Jessica Merk each had two-run singles in the inning.

Duncan went 3-for-3 in the game while Merk, Howell, and Otero each had two hits. Zoey Mills picked up the win, tossing a complete game.

Game 2 was much like Game 1, as the Titans’ offense scored 13 times in the first inning, nearly hitting twice, sending 17 hitters to the plate.

Annalyn Duncan, Jaelynne Whipple, and Isabel Otero each had two-run doubles in the inning.

The Titans would score three more times in the second inning as Whipple drove in two runs with her nation-leading 12th triple of the season. She would score on Madison Velazquez’s single to make it 16.

Aracelis Jimenez went 4-for-4 in the game while Madison Velazquez went 3-for-3 with a couple of doubles. 

Isabella Rosales and Hannah Davis combined to allow just two hits in the win.

Eastern Florida State College will wrap up the regular season on Tuesday afternoon at No. 6 Santa Fe College. It will be a battle for second place as the Titans are one game behind Santa Fe in the Citrus Conference standings.
