BREVARD COUNTY, CAPE CANAVERAL, FLORIDA — United Launch Alliance is preparing to send another major batch of Amazon’s Project Kuiper satellites into orbit later this month as the Atlas V rocket launches the Amazon Leo 7 mission from Florida’s Space Coast.
Liftoff is scheduled for May 29 during a 29-minute launch window that opens at 12:27 p.m. EDT and closes at 12:56 p.m. EDT from Space Launch Complex-41 at Cape Canaveral Space Force Station.
The mission will use ULA’s powerful Atlas V 551 configuration, featuring five side-mounted solid rocket boosters and a medium-length payload fairing, to carry the next group of Amazon Leo satellites into low Earth orbit.
Amazon Leo, part of Amazon’s broader satellite internet initiative, is designed to provide fast, reliable broadband service to customers in underserved and remote areas around the world where traditional internet infrastructure remains limited.
The full constellation is expected to include more than 3,000 satellites operating in coordinated orbits around Earth.
The Amazon Leo 7 launch marks another step in Amazon’s long-term deployment strategy and further strengthens ULA’s role in one of the largest commercial launch agreements in industry history.
Amazon previously selected ULA for multiple Atlas V and Vulcan rocket missions as it works to rapidly expand its next-generation communications network.
