BREVARD COUNTY, CAPE CANAVERAL, FLORIDA — United Launch Alliance successfully launched its Atlas V rocket Friday evening from Cape Canaveral Space Force Station, carrying another batch of satellites for Amazon Leo, the company’s growing low Earth orbit broadband constellation.

The mission lifted off from Space Launch Complex-41 during a 29-minute launch window that opened at 7:33 p.m. EDT.

The Atlas V flew in its powerful 551 configuration, equipped with five solid rocket boosters and a medium-length payload fairing, delivering the next group of Amazon Leo satellites into orbit.

Amazon Leo is designed to provide fast, reliable internet service to customers in underserved and remote regions worldwide where traditional broadband infrastructure remains limited.

The company plans to deploy a constellation of more than 3,000 satellites operating in coordinated low Earth orbits to create a global communications network.

Friday’s Amazon Leo 7 mission marks another major milestone in Amazon’s long-term deployment strategy as the company continues to rapidly expand its satellite internet capabilities.

The launch also highlights United Launch Alliance’s key role in one of the largest commercial launch agreements in space industry history.

Amazon selected ULA to conduct multiple Atlas V and Vulcan rocket missions as it works toward completing its next-generation broadband constellation.

The successful mission adds to the growing number of Amazon Leo satellites already operating in orbit and moves the company closer to providing global internet coverage through its expanding satellite network.
