28th Annual Great Brevard Duck Race Returns Today to Support Crosswinds Youth Services
Event returns to Cocoa Village Riverfront Park

BREVARD COUNTY • COCOA, FLORIDA – Crosswinds Youth Services will host the 28th Annual Great Brevard Duck Race on Saturday, June 13, 2026, at Cocoa Village Riverfront Park, bringing the community together for a day of family fun while raising critical support for at-risk and homeless youth across Brevard County.
The popular fundraising event begins at 1 p.m. with a community festival featuring live entertainment, family-friendly activities, face painting, bounce houses, games, food trucks, local vendors, and outreach organizations.
The signature event, the Great Brevard Duck Race, begins at 3:30 p.m., when up to 5,000 bright yellow rubber ducks will race to the finish line along the river.
Community members can adopt a duck for $5 for a chance to win cash prizes, including $2,500 for first place, $1,500 for second, $1,000 for third, $500 for fourth, and $250 for fifth.
Every duck adoption directly benefits Crosswinds Youth Services, which has served Brevard County youth in crisis since 1974 through emergency shelter, counseling, family support, and intervention and prevention programs.
This year’s event also introduces the Duck Derby Challenge, encouraging businesses, schools, churches, and community groups to compete for bragging rights by adopting the most ducks.
“This is more than a race — it’s a community coming together to make a real difference in a child’s life,” said Crosswinds President and CEO Mike Scully. “Every duck in the water represents hope, safety, and opportunity for a young person who needs it.”
Funds raised through the Great Brevard Duck Race help ensure Crosswinds can continue providing essential local services to vulnerable youth throughout Brevard County.
The annual event is supported by Space Coast Daily, WFTV 9 Family Connection, Lite Rock 99.3, and numerous community sponsors.
