Palm Bay Fire Rescue Showcases December Activity and Operational Readiness

BREVARD COUNTY • PALM BAY, FLORIDA — Palm Bay Fire Rescue continues to meet the growing emergency service needs of one of Brevard County’s fastest-expanding communities, responding to nearly 1,800 incidents last month.
According to department officials, Palm Bay Fire Rescue crews answered 1,774 calls for service in December 2025, reflecting both the city’s steady population growth and the increasing complexity of emergency response in the region.
The calls spanned a wide range of incidents, including emergency medical emergencies, fire suppression, service responses, alarm activations, and public assistance requests.
Fire officials say emergency medical calls made up a significant portion of the department’s workload, mirroring a national trend in which fire rescue agencies serve as primary first responders for medical crises.
In addition to medical emergencies, crews handled structure and vehicle fires, hazardous conditions, false alarms, and welfare checks, while also assisting residents with non-emergency needs that require trained personnel and specialized equipment.

“As Palm Bay continues to grow, so do the demands placed on our fire rescue system,” the department stated. “Our commitment to meeting those demands safely and professionally remains unwavering.”
Department leaders emphasized that behind each call statistic is a team of highly trained firefighters, paramedics, and support staff working around the clock to protect lives and property.
Crews undergo continuous training in fire suppression, emergency medical care, technical rescue, and disaster response to ensure readiness for any situation.
Palm Bay Fire Rescue also credits strong community support and city leadership for helping the department maintain operational readiness through staffing, equipment upgrades and station resources.
