BREVARD COUNTY, FLORIDA – I had the honor of attending the start of the Vietnam Memorial Wall as it began it’s journey to Wickham Park where it will stand in honor of our military heroes for the next week.

John Devitt, founded The Moving Wall in 1984 after attending the 1982 dedication at The Vietnam Veteran Memorial in Washington DC. The Moving Wall is a half sized replica of the memorial, visiting every state in the US including Puerto Rico, Canada, Guam, and Saipan. It has been displayed 1,294+ times.

The wall is a traveling replica of the Vietnam Memorial that is in Washington DC. The wall stands six feet tall and is nearly 300 feet in length.

The wall serves as a constant reminder and is an educational piece of history about the sacrifices made by all the men and women during the Vietnam War.

I would like to thank all the members of the Brevard County Sheriff’s Office and surrounding agencies who escorted the wall and also thank everyone who came out on their motorcycles to help take the wall to Wickham Park.
