UPDATE: 19-Year-Old Man Dies In Wednesday Night’s Drug Related Shooting In Cocoa

Four people were wounded following a shooting incident late Wednesday evening. One victim was airlifted to the hospital in critical condition, and three others victims were in serious condition.
A 19-year-old man has died following a shooting late Wednesday. Tyree Dawkins, 19, was pronounced dead at the hospital. Detectives believe he was part of a planned armed robbery that ended in an exchange of gunfire, according to Yvonne Martinez of the Cocoa Police Department.

BREVARD COUNTY • COCOA, FLORIDA – A 19-year-old man has died following a shooting late Wednesday. Tyree Dawkins, 19, was pronounced dead at the hospital. Detectives believe he was part of a planned armed robbery that ended in an exchange of gunfire, according to Yvonne Martinez of the Cocoa Police Department.

Four suspects are in custody facing charges in connection with the homicide.

According to a release by police, at around 9:30 p.m. Wednesday, patrol officers responded to 900 Friday Road, after reports of a shooting.

When officers arrived they located multiple victims. Dawkins was found in a wooded area across the street from the shooting scene. He was taken to the hospital where was later pronounced dead. Less than one mile down the road two other victims were located in a vehicle.

Two others were taken to the hospital with gunshot wounds and are currently recovering.

The identities of these individuals are being withheld as part of the ongoing criminal investigation.

A third person identified as Derrick Adderly II, 29, suffered a superficial gunshot wound.

He was taken into custody at the scene and is facing felony charges in connection with the incident.

Detectives learned Dawkins was involved with three others in a plot to rob Adderly of drugs and money.

The group arranged to meet Adderly at 900 Friday Road to purchase marijuana. An individual identified as Delvonte Rosier, 20, was with Dawkins to carry out the robbery then began shooting and Adderly returned fire. All of the individuals involved fled the scene, however were later located by responding officers.

*The suspects and pending charges are as follows:
• 20-year-old Delvonte Antonio Rosier: Attempted Armed Robbery, 2nd Degree Felony Murder, Shooting into an Occupied Vehicle, Violation of Probation reference prior drug charges.
• A 17-year-old: Attempted Armed Robbery, 2nd Degree Felony Murder
• 19-year-old Jared Brian Harding: Attempted Armed Robbery, 2nd Degree Felony Murder
• 29-year-old Derrick Kevin Adderly II: Attempted Sale of Cannabis, 2nd Degree Felony Murder

The individuals with Dawkins included Rosier, Battle and Harding. The two individuals currently in the hospital were with Adderly during the attempted drug deal.

The investigation is ongoing and additional charges are possible.
