Father Dan Freitas, 87, Passes Away At Home

BREVARD COUNTY • MELBBOURNE, FLORIDA — Father Dan Freitas, 87, of Melbourne, went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, May 22, 2012 from his home.
He was born on March 5, 1925 in Terceira, Azores, Portugal.
In 1949, Fr. Dan was ordained in Fall River, Massachusetts.
He then retired after 46 years to Melbourne, Florida.
He is survived by his beloved caregiver; Gloria Kirkman (Joe).
Visitation will be held on Thursday, May 4, 2012 at Ascension Catholic Church, Melbourne, Florida from 5:00 p.m.-6:30 p.m. with a vigil service to begin at 6:30 p.m.
Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at Ascension Catholic Church on Friday, May 25, 2012 at 11:30 a.m.
Burial will take place at St. Patrick’s Cemetery in Massachusetts at a later date.
