BREVARD COUNTY • PALM BAY, FLORIDA – A man suspected of committing lewd acts and exposing himself in Palm Bay is being sought by Palm Bay Police for questioning.

Palm Bay Police Department sp0keswoman Yvonne Martinez said detectives with the Palm Bay Police Special Victims Unit (SVU) are attempting to identify and locate a suspect who committed a sexual offense in a northeast-area neighborhood.

Martinez said that at about 9:15 p.m. Aug. 27 patrol officers responded to the 1500 block of Norman Street NE in Palm Bay after receiving a complaint from a resident who witnessed a white male exposing himself and committing a lewd act in the driveway of a home.

The witness described the suspect to police as being 6-feet tall, weighing approximately 160 pounds with gray shaved hair, blue eyes and wearing baggy denim shorts.

Martinez said the man was also described as “weathered” as if he had years of construction work and was possibly homeless.

“According to the witness it appeared the individual was looking into the bedroom window of a 12-year-old girl,” Martinez said.  “The witness did make contact with the individual before he fled on foot.”

Responding officers canvassed the area, but were unable to identify or locate the suspect.

Palm Bay SVU detectives worked with the witness to develop a composite sketch of the individual and the investigation is ongoing.  Residents are urged to be aware and immediately report any suspicious individuals and activity.
