They are the only Brevard-area players competing in the game, which honors the top 24 graduating seniors from throughout the state.

Klein has committed to play for the Daytona State Falcons in their inaugural 2013 season.

As a setter, Klein has directed the offense for the Merritt Island Mustangs.

In 2011, Klein helped Merritt Island win The Class 5A State Volleyball Championship and led the Mustangs to the Class 5A spot this season.

In addition to playing volleyball for Merritt Island, Klein has competed for both the Cape Coast and Orlando Volleyball Academy club programs.

Van Alstine, an outside hitter, will attend the University of North Florida on a volleyball scholarship.

As a junior, she had 301 kills and 63 blocks to spearhead Merritt Island’s drove to the Class 5A state title and helped Merritt Island finish second in Class 5A this year.

She also has competed in club volleyball for the Orlando Volleyball Academy’s 17 Asics.

Merritt Island coach Angie Patrick will serve as a coach for one of the state All-Star teams.
