Pittman Arrested In Melbourne Shooting

MPD, GAMEOVER MAKE ARREST

BREVARD COUNTY • MELBOURNE – James Pittman, 25, has been arrested in last Wednesday night’s shooting in the 800 block Cedar Drive that left one man in critical condition.

Police said shots were fired between two men and one was shot in the leg, who was taken to the Holmes Regional Medical Center in critical condition, where he remains.

During the course of their investigation, Melbourne Police detectives identified Pittman as the person who shot and critically wounded a man on August 28. A warrant was obtained for Pittman’s arrest.

Around 5:30 p.m. yesterday, Melbourne Police detectives and members of the Brevard County GAMEOVER Task Force located Pittman at a residence on Pinewood Drive in the Pine Apartments in Palm Bay.

Pittman was taken into custody without incident and transported to the Brevard County Jail.
Pittman was charged with Attempted Murder, Aggravated Battery with a Firearm, Use of Firearm During Commission of Felony and Violation of Probation.The Melbourne Police Department is currently investigating this incident and if you have any information call Crimeline at 1-800-423-TIPS (8477)
